Intro to Wheel Throwing - 6 Weeks Beginners Workshop - Starts 9.30
Wheel Throwing Workshop for Beginners
6 weeks · Wednesdays 7PM · Starting September 30th, 2026
Please sign up with an email you actively check.
Join us at El Studio for a hands-on introduction to the art of wheel throwing — a cozy, small-group series designed for true beginners (and anyone craving a creative reset) — and our last workshop of 2026.
This 6-week Wednesday series, beginning September 30th, covers the essential foundations of wheel throwing ceramics. You'll learn how to center clay on the wheel, pull walls, trim your pieces, add simple details, and glaze your finished work. This course is based on everything we taught ourselves when we first fell in love with pottery — practical, approachable, and focused on learning by doing.
At El Studio, it’s not about perfection or productivity. It's about showing up, getting your hands muddy, and discovering a practice that helps you slow down and stay present.
You'll leave with a solid foundation to continue practicing — and a few handmade pieces to show for it.
✨ What's Included
6 guided sessions in a small group of 6 — every student gets their own wheel and time with the instructor
All clay, materials, tools, and firings included — no extra fees
Step-by-step instruction with individual guidance so you can learn the basics of wheel throwing
Tuesday Night Office Hours (Open Studio) with your instructor — drop in for extra practice, questions, and one-on-one help
Time to create, unwind, and connect
🤞🏼 What You'll Gain
Core wheel throwing skills (centering, pulling, trimming, glazing)
A consistent weekly mindfulness and creative practice
A fun new supportive community of fellow beginners (just 6 students per group)
Your own handmade ceramic collection to take home
💛 Perfect For
Beginners · burnout recovery · stress relief · mindfulness seekers · creative wellness · date nights · solo self-care · Miami locals looking for unique wellness experiences

The Aftermath
Please be patient — pottery takes time!
The process to prepare your pieces takes about 6 weeks. Please be patient and do not contact us until then. We are a small team trying to process pieces as fast as ceramics can be processed, and it is hard for us to keep up with incoming communications. Thank you for your patience!
You will receive an email from our team once your pieces are ready with pick-up information. Please sign up with an email that you actively check.
Cancellations
We understand that things can come up at the last minute, which is why we offer a cancellation policy in which we will grant a full refund of your ticket price if you give us a cancellation notice at least 48 hours before this workshop starts. Please do so via email at ocislyceramics@gmail.com.
Cancellations any time after that will not be refunded, and since we offer workshops occasionally we will try to re-schedule you in a future one or offer other studio activities.
If you can't make it to 1 of the classes, we cannot re-schedule since the modules build on each other. However come during Tuesday ‘Office Hours’ to make up for the time you missed.
