Wheel Throwing is truly such a special experience — fun, messy, grounding, and a little bit magical. It’s one of those skills that feels both challenging and incredibly rewarding in the best way. Come as you are and enjoy a chill, creative 2 hours with friends, a date, or even just some much-needed solo time to reconnect with your muse.
We’ll guide you through the whole process, set you up with everything you need, and cheer you on as you create your own one-of-a-kind pieces. Let’s get our hands muddy, make some memories, and see what beautiful shapes you bring to life.
Your ticket includes all materials, tools, and instructor support. (Food + drinks aren’t included, and firing your pieces is totally optional.)
The ticket is $100 per person—please purchase a ticket for each guest. Food and drinks are not included.
Our class is perfect for beginners and will cover:
An introduction to clay, pottery, and how to throw simple shapes on the wheel.
3+ lbs of clay to create basic forms like bowls or small vases.
All materials, tools, and equipment (including the wheel) are provided.
Firing is not included in the class—you get to choose what you’d like to do next.
During the class, you’ll have up to 2, maybe 3 attempts (time permitting and depending on your progress) to create pieces. At the end of the session, you’ll have the option to fire and finish any pieces for $10 each. If you decide not to keep or fire your work, no worries—you’ll still walk away with a fun, hands-on experience!

Join us at El Studio for a hands-on introduction to the art of wheel throwing. It's a cozy, small-group series designed for true beginners (and anyone craving a creative reset).
This 4-week Wednesday series, beginning October 7th, covers the essential foundations of wheel throwing ceramics. You'll learn how to center clay on the wheel, pull walls, trim your pieces, add simple details, and glaze your finished work. This course is based on everything we taught ourselves when we first fell in love with pottery: practical, approachable, and focused on learning by doing.
It's not about perfection or productivity. It's about showing up, getting your hands muddy, and discovering a practice that helps you slow down and stay present.
You'll leave with a solid foundation to keep practicing, plus a few handmade pieces to show for it.

Cancellations
We understand that things can come up at the last minute. That's why we'll give you a full refund if you cancel at least 48 hours before the workshop starts. To cancel, please email us at ocislyceramics@gmail.com.
Cancellations after that point won't be refunded. Since we only offer workshops occasionally, we'll try to move you into a future one or offer other studio activities instead.
If you miss a class, we'll try to schedule solo studio time so you can make it up, but we can't promise it. If you can't pick up your pieces on the last day, we'll hold them at the studio for 1 month.

Join us at El Studio for a two-part Sunday series on marbling — the art of marrying two clays into one swirling, one-of-a-kind surface. Because you already know your way around the wheel, we get to skip the basics and spend our time on the good part: pattern, movement, and the small technical shifts that make marbled work sing.
This series runs Sunday, October 18th and 25th, from 2–5pm. In the first session you'll learn how to blend and layer clay bodies into a marbled block, then throw with it — which asks for a lighter hand than you're used to, since too much water or one pull too many will blur the pattern into mud. That restraint is the whole lesson, and it'll make you a better thrower on plain clay too. In the second session you'll trim your pieces, which is where the magic happens: every pass of the tool cuts deeper and reveals more of the pattern hiding under the surface. Then you'll add handles, feet, and carved details to finish them off.
It's not about perfection or productivity. Marbling is a practice in letting go — you can guide the pattern, but you can never fully control it, and that's exactly the point. You'll open the kiln to something you couldn't have drawn ahead of time.
You'll leave with a few marbled pieces and a technique you'll want to keep chasing.

Cancellations
We understand that things can come up at the last minute. That's why we'll give you a full refund if you cancel at least 48 hours before the first session starts. To cancel, please email us at ocislyceramics@gmail.com.
Cancellations after that point won't be refunded. Since we only offer workshops occasionally, we'll try to move you into a future one or offer other studio activities instead.

Spend your Wednesday evening at Little River's favorite spot for pizza and cocktails, and make a little Italian-inspired art while you're there. Grab a spritz, settle in, and sculpt your own air dry clay pieces inspired by the aperitivo table: pasta shapes, olives, tomatoes and all the little things that make an Italian evening feel special. Grab your compplimentary Sangria, find your seat and we'll set you up with everything you need.
Take your time and sculpt at your own pace. Enjoy the music, order brunch and take your creations home at the end.
Cancellation Policy:
Reservations must be cancelled at least 24 hours in advance for a full refund. Late cancellations may be credited toward a future session. No-shows will not be refunded. Wheel Throwing is truly such a special experience — fun, messy, grounding, and a little bit magical. It’s one of those skills that feels both challenging and incredibly rewarding in the best way. Come as you are and enjoy a chill, creative 2 hours with friends, a date, or even just some much-needed solo time to reconnect with your muse.
We’ll guide you through the whole process, set you up with everything you need, and cheer you on as you create your own one-of-a-kind pieces. Let’s get our hands muddy, make some memories, and see what beautiful shapes you bring to life.
Your ticket includes all materials, tools, and instructor support. (Food + drinks aren’t included, and firing your pieces is totally optional.)
The ticket is $100 per person—please purchase a ticket for each guest. Food and drinks are not included.
Our class is perfect for beginners and will cover:
An introduction to clay, pottery, and how to throw simple shapes on the wheel.
3+ lbs of clay to create basic forms like bowls or small vases.
All materials, tools, and equipment (including the wheel) are provided.
Firing is not included in the class—you get to choose what you’d like to do next.
During the class, you’ll have up to 2, maybe 3 attempts (time permitting and depending on your progress) to create pieces. At the end of the session, you’ll have the option to fire and finish any pieces for $10 each. If you decide not to keep or fire your work, no worries—you’ll still walk away with a fun, hands-on experience!

Wheel Throwing is truly such a special experience — fun, messy, grounding, and a little bit magical. It’s one of those skills that feels both challenging and incredibly rewarding in the best way.
